As a college student, I was a waitress at the Crystal summers from 1968 through 1972. It was a real coming of age experience. First time I ever worked with diverse people — Puerto Ricans, Asians, Mexicans, Greeks, African-Americans. BTW, the food was so good. Everything made from scratch — I still think about the bread, the soups, the pies — nothing like it anymore.
