A very happy Mother’s Day to the Moms of Berks County and beyond. I’ve decided to share a few from my own family’s album with you all today in honor of them.

My Grandmother, late 1950s, standing in front of her childhood home on Columbia Avenue in Sinky, next to a sign for my Great-grandfather’s Hat Shop, which was located in the back yard. From Sinking Spring area? You may have heard of Meckley’s Hat Shop.

My mother, early 1970’s, growing up in West Wyomissing on Girard Ave. Directly behind her in the distance is where Route 222 was built.

Been to Meckley’s many times and always came away with a couple new hats. The shop was a rare gem!
