Kaleidoscope Berkshire Mall

The Kaleidoscope was a store in the Berkshire Mall in the 70s. It sold jewelry, black lights and other psychedelic things. You could also get your ears pierced there. Do you remember this store?

Interesting…..the second picture with the sail plane features something I’ve remembered for years but haven’t seen in any pictures. If you look on the left edge of the picture, about two inches down from the NW corner you can just make out one of the mid-century modern globe clocks that they had hanging from the ceiling above the benches along the main concourse. I believe they had one at each end of the mall. As an adult, I couldn’t help but notice later on that they bore a VERY uncanny resemblance to the “doomsday clock” of the ’50s.

Also of note, on the third picture, also in the top left corner, you can see early colonial style white pillars and wood paneling, which I believe to be the outside of Woolworth’s Harvest House restaurant.
