I am at a crossroads with Berks Nostalgia. The past 7.5 years my creative and communication skills have flourished here. I would love to make this somewhat of career, though I have no delusion that it will be a particularly lucrative one. Luckily my situation is one where it doesn’t need to make me rich, but I have reached a point where does need to start covering the time I spend on it, and beyond that rationalize spending even more time on it.
I am now offering membership plans to those of you who want to support the work I do here. Click here to see the details. If you are currently a subscriber you have been transitioned to a free membership. To you, nothing will be different besides perhaps the design of the emails you receive from me.
A few of you have already upgraded to paid memberships without me even advertising it and I cannot thank you enough. It means so much to me that you are willing to invest in me. I am still trying to build on the exclusive material, but you will find plenty of history resources and drone photos from the membership dashboard in the meantime. From here on out I will be publishing articles for members first, and then making them public a day or so later.
As a 33-year-old mom of two young kids, a wife, and a board member of a two local non-profits I can’t promise a ton of extra content from the get-go. What I can promise is authenticity and the desire to grow this into something bigger. I will never use AI to generate my written work. All of my words come from within me, someone who lives right here in Berks County. Someone who thoroughly studies its past and is invested in its future. When I do contribute my own observations and insights know I do so with knowledge I have gained from hours of research.
In a world that currently seems like it is impossible to distinguish what is and is not true – I pride myself on the fact that the content I produce here is clear, concise, and perhaps most importantly; honest. This is our shared story, you deserve to get it straight.
If you have an extra $55 a year to spend on me, I would greatly appreciate it. If not, I completely understand, and you will not miss out on any articles because of it. If you have any questions or problems with the new membership process please reach out and let me know. I am still working through the kinks. Thanks again for all of the support on this journey. It really has been incredible to watch this community grow.
I’m having trouble signing up
Thank you for all of your hard work, Alexa. Know that all of us appreciate it more than we can ever say (especially those of us who no longer live in Berks).
It will not accept my email.
