The millionth case of beer this year rolled off the assembly line at the Reading Brewing Co. yesterday and Harry Fischman, president of the company, right, was there to mark the occasion. Fischman is seen showing the case to Thomas Ames, left, packaging engineer, and E. Edward Messer, center, brewmaster. Fischer noted that the millionth case last year came off the line Aug. 26th, and a total of 1,916,645 cases were produced that year. The case contained the brewery’s new six pack, 16 oz. “glass can” package. The brewing company recently completed a $2,000,000 expansion and modernization plan, the president said. – Eagle Photo
It was short I worked there. It was the only building Joe Gentile owned out right. He changed the name…
Nice bit of nostalgia from the time Reading actually produced stuff. Have to admit I never liked that brand of beer, but the city had other active breweries too.
