Hugo’s was a dance club and bar, incorporated on August 17th, 1972. It was located in Muhlenberg, specifically Laureldale, at the location of the current Alebrije Mexican Restaurant in Plaza 222. Schell’s Mini-Golf, Restaurant and Dairy Swirl
Nothing says summertime like a trip to Schell’s for some minigolf and ice cream at the Dairy Swirl. Schell’s has been a landmark on 5th Street Highway in Muhlenberg Township since 1952. The Mini-golf course opened in 1953, and was made larger in 1969.

The Reading Drive-in Theatre
The Reading Drive-In Theatre opened on August 26, 1949. It cost 65 cents to per adult to watch “Perils of Pauline” on opening night. The Reading Drive-In was located on the 5th Street several miles north of Reading in Temple, Pa. The Fairgrounds Square Mall was built on the site of the old Reading Fairgrounds.

The Mall opened in October 1980
The Mall’s opening ribbon-cutting ceremony happening on October 20th 1980, on the first day of the 125th Reading Fair which was held on its premises.

A New Shopping Mall was opened in Berks County on Monday. It’s called the Fairgrounds Square Mall and is located in Muhlenberg Township where the former Reading Fairground was located.
