Fifth Day of Christmas – Looking west down toward 4th and Penn Street in the 1950s. Happy shoppers walk around downtown looking for the perfect Christmas gift.
The American House building is on the left in the distance.
Chiarelli Brothers music and appliance store is the lighted windows on the left! I was working for them as Home Economist! And salesgirl even switchboard for the hotel! Loved working for the Chiarellis!
Yeah, that is Chiarelli Brothers before they put the big sign up on the side of the building around 1967/1968.
Miss Chiarelli (daughter of the owner) was my music teacher at West Lawn Elementary School in the late 1950s, early 60s. She always had a big, beautiful smile.
Not “Third and Penn”. Looking towards “Fourth Street”. Chiarelli’s on the left, Marvel Ranch on the right. Photo taken from around the old Pep Boys store.
