A few still shots from my exploration today of the old D. S. & W. Hosiery Mill on Moss Street. The oldest part of the mill was built in 1917, and was in operation until around 1970. After that it became outlet stores called the Great Factory Outlets. In May 1996 the adjacent mill/outlet building was set ablaze and burned to the ground; damaging surrounding properties. This one was unscathed but has been largely abandoned since, and is currently undergoing redevelopment into apartments. More photos, drone shots and history coming in a future post. Moore's Diner as it sat at 421 Penn Street in Reading. Moore's was first established at 5th & Court in 1937 by Walter J. Moore. He eventually opened four other diner locations downtown, and a restaurant on the corner of Lancaster Ave and Morgantown Road, which later became Queen City Diner.
